On Thursday Dec. 3, Temple University’s photojournalism club called Aperture Agency hosted a photo gallery titled, “The Human Body Exhibit.” The exhibit was held at Goldiblocks Gallery in Center City. The premise of “The Human Body Exhibit” is to get a look at the beauty of the human body against the images that are portrayed in the media.

One of the photographers named Noelle QiFu Cress had four photos in the exhibit and said that she was pleased with each of them. She also had one that she was especially proud of because it was “more indicative of a new style that [she has] now.”

The photo was of a model of hers who is a dancer. During the photo shoot, Noelle had her model do a series of different dance poses as Noelle took photos. The picture that Noelle chose for the exhibit was a photo of her model on the floor with her head rolled back in a moment that Noelle described as, “she was not quite paying attention and it was this, like…peaceful moment.” After selecting the photo, Noelle fixed it up in Adobe Photoshop. “I blacked out the edges that were kinda not important, and it focused on her face, shoulders, and knees, so it’s kinda this picture of peace that I really like.”

Along with a picture of the part of the model’s body that they are the most proud of, a quote is also submitted to the gallery. The quote could be a story about the model’s body, why they selected that part of their body, or simply a quote that they think best suits their picture.

Aperture Agency normally specializes in photojournalism but, as shown by this exhibit, there are many other ways to get involved. To get in contact with Aperture it is possible to reach them at aperture.agency@gmail.com or you can find them on Facebook by searching Aperture Agency.
