Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” Music Video Is Shaking the Table

On Monday, pop superstar Ariana Grande took to Twitter to debut the trailer for the highly-anticipated music video for her newest single “thank u, next”.

On the same day, it was announced via her manager, Scooter Braun, that the song had also gone platinum, only three weeks following the song’s release. The music video became the first Billboard Hot 100 no. 1 of Grande’s career and has broken multiple Spotify records.

The song itself means a lot to Grande as it was released on the heels of her brief engagement to comedian, Pete Davidson. Making the best of a a bad situation, the upbeat song serves as a thank-you note to all of her previous boyfriends for each leaving her with something to move forward with, making her a better individual. Minutes ago, the music video was officially released and the internet is already going into a frenzy.

The video is a nod to cult classics, Mean Girls,13 Going on 30, Bring it On and Legally Blonde.

Celebrity cameos including the Mean Girls original cast members, Jonathan Bennett and Stefanie Drummond to Jennifer Coolidge of Legally Blonde. Even Kris Jenner has a cameo! The list goes on and on. The Hannah Lux Davis, directed video showcases yet another layer of Grande, having fun with friends and channeling the personas of some iconic characters.

The video is being received extremely well by the public with “#ThankUNextVideo” and “Ariana being the top two trends on Twitter. Everyone from Vogue to CNN is talking about this video.

Even YouTube issued a statement letting the public know that the traffic on YouTube because of the video has caused the video’s comments and view count to freeze. In “thank u,next” Grande sings, “least this song is a smash” and by the looks of things, she is psychic!
