The SAG award-winning film Black Panther is returning to theatres beginning February 1st and through the first week of February in honor of Black History Month. And for free! The blockbuster hit is set to be shown at 250 AMC theatres across the United States.

The Walt Disney Co. has also agreed that they will be donating $1.5 million dollars to the United Negro College Fund in an effort to support minority students in their college careers. In a press release, Disney’s chief executive officer expresses that,

“The story [of Black Panther] showcases the power of knowledge to change the                  world for the better, and the importance of ensuring everyone has access to it. We’re proud to provide thousands of free screenings of ‘Black Panther’ in hopes it will continue to inspire audiences, and to support UNCF with a $1.5 million grant to make the dream of higher education a reality for more students,”.

In case you need reminding, Black Panther crushed box offices across the globe, becoming the 9th highest grossing film of all time, being a huge win for Marvel and serving as a cultural staple for fans and underrepresented communities. The film is up for 7 Academy Awards this year, including Best Picture.

Check out the list of participating AMC theatres to see where you can catch your free screening. Happy Black History Month!
