One of the most popular MCU characters may be sticking around a little longer. According to Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers 4, Chris Evans isn’t done playing Captain America just yet. He didn’t go into detail for what this could mean, but it certainly made fans even more anxious to watch Avengers 4 in 2019.

This comes as a surprise after Evans left movie goers assuming his last MCU appearance would come in Avengers 4. In case you didn’t know, Avengers 4 has been rumored as the end for multiple character storylines in the universe. The biggest names thrown out there for who could possibly be killed off in Avengers 4 were Iron Man along with Captain America himself.

It’s odd to think we could see more of Steve Rodgers following Avengers 4. What they would  have him do remains unknown. If this upcoming Avengers movie is supposed to act as the conclusion to a majority of the MCU’s plotlines, why keep Evans around? If you plan one day on finishing the narrative of a flagship character in your series, this is the movie to have that action take place.

Also, speaking of Avengers 4, the much anticipated trailer will apparently debut tomorrow morning. Hopefully we understand what Joe Russo meant a little more when watching this trailer. Knowing how Marvel loves to keep everything confidential, it’s unlikely we’ll receive much information between now and when the movie comes out. Avengers 4 is expected to break more records for Marvel by May 2019. Simply put, Chris Evans has contributed immensely to Marvel’s success, playing the iconic Captain America for almost eight years.
