Last July, longtime programming president Casey Bloys at HBO, officially announced there would be a follow-up movie to the cancelled too soon show Deadwood.

Production started on the project last November, and is set to take place 10 years after the original series aired. It has just been announced that the show will premiere this Spring 2019 and will be considered for the 2019 Primetime Emmy Awards.

This is big news for fans of the cult series that takes place in a Western town known as Deadwood. Most of the original cast members are returning including Ian McShane, John Hawkes, Anna Gunn, and Molly Parker.

Story details include a celebration of South Dakota’s statehood, which reignites old rivalries, and will ultimately lead to many tense TV moments that will leave viewers gasping on the edge of their seat. Be sure to look out for the Deadwood movie this Spring. It is something people will surely not want to miss.
