BIG NEWS: Disney has officially announced Deadpool will remain Rated-R. The report came from Disney CEO Bob Iger during a conference call. He mentioned there are zero reasons to change the formula that has made Deadpool a great movie franchise.

News like this surprises many as Disney never goes outside its comfort zone with G, PG, and PG-13 ratings. How Disney is going to pull this off without affecting their family oriented brand is another story. If you had no clue about this information until now, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Deadpool fans can look forward to seeing more R-Rated adventures of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth.

One question that still stands is whether or not Deadpool will become a member the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Early reports indicate that he will not be implemented into the world built around The Avengers. Although watching Deadpool kick butt alongside Tony Stark would be an incredible sight, adding Wade Wilson to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is an odd choice.

The reason why this idea wouldn’t completely work is because Deadpool would have limitations on his character. All twenty films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been rated PG-13. If Deadpool were to make an appearance next to Marvel’s other flagship characters, awful flashbacks of Once Upon a Deadpool (the PG-13 Deadpool 2 cut) will haunt our minds.

There is no point in having a vulgar character take part in a universe that rarely contains  expletives in its script. One lesson all Marvel fans should know is Deadpool works best in his own universe, albeit one that isn’t PG-13.
