Golden Globes 2019 Nominees Announced!

The 76thGolden Globes list of nominees have been announced and it could not be more exciting! The news dropped early this morning on a morning show from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Terry Crews, Leslie Mann, Danai Gurira, and Christian Slater were nominated for both television and film. Golden Globe ambassador Isan Elba, the president of Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Meher Tatna, and the executive Vice President of Dick Clark Productions, Barry Adelman joined them to deliver the news in person.

Grey’s Anatomy fans will get a blast from the past as Sandra Oh will be hosting alongside Lonely Island, and SNL alum, Andy Samberg.

Amongst the stealthy list on nominations, it is no surprise that A Star Is Born has 5 nominations including “Best Original Song” and “Best Motion Picture”. The leads, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, have both been nominated for “Best Actress” and “Best Actor”. Cooper is also up for “Best Director” for his directorial debut making this an exciting and big year for nominations for him. The theme for music biopics continue as Bohemian Rapsodyis also in the running for “Best Motion Picture”. Black Panther, If Beale Street Could Talk, andBlacKkKlansman are also listed in the same category as well.

Mary Poppins Returns, Green Book, and The Favouriteare also nominated in several categories relating to film including “Best Screenplay”, “Best Director”, and “Best Actor in a Motion Picture”.

Changing directions into television, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ozark, and The Good Place are up for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series”, “Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series”, and “Best Television Series”. The Assasination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Storyhas 3 nominations: “Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television”, “Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television”, and “Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television”.

Revival shows such as Will and Graceand Murphy Brownare gaining traction with a nomination for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy”.

Westworld, The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects are also nominated in select categories for television. Bodyguard, A Quiet Place, Boy Erased are nominated in select movie categories.
