Amazon Prime’s beloved “the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is back for another round of laughs and 1950s drama! Living as a normal housewife in late 1950 New York City, Miriam, or “Midge” Maisel is living the life every woman would want for herself. But, late at night, she turns societally rebellious as she lives her nights as a stand-up comedienne, a profession that is predominately male in this time. It’s a show that takes the audience back in to the good days of the late 1950s, written from the mind of Amy Sherman-Palladino, who also wrote “Gilmore Girls.”
Prime released the eagerly awaited show on the 5th of December. The second season finale left a cliffhanger with Miriam doing another stand up comedy show, and her husband (…at the time), Joel, finally finds out what Midge has been doing all along.
The season has 10 episodes. It highlights more of Miriam’s life as she makes her way deeper through the comedy business, as well as how other people in her family are doing. Miriam’s life gets twirled up in a whirlwind through the season.
From Rose Weissman (Miriam’s mother) and her spontaneous desire to move to Paris, to now ex husband attempting to ameliorate his family’s female clothing business, This is the season where comedy and family finally overlap -everyone and their mother will finally find out who Midge really is. The cat has been let out of the bag – she’s not the girl everyone thinks she is.
