The week of March 7 brought what was without a doubt the nicest weather we have seen in months. After a record setting winter snowstorm that put the blizzard of ’96 to shame, campus seemed to go into hibernation mode just looking for some hope of warm weather. Well the wait finally has ended. With a peak of 84 degrees during the week, Philadelphia was basking in the glory of pure uninhibited sunlight. “Last week I just couldn’t stop smiling!” exclaimed Temple freshman Mary Kate Allessandrini. She also shed some light on her morning routine, “I actually enjoyed waking up in the morning, it wasn’t a struggle.” I think this resonated with a majority of students last week, hence why the Bell Tower was jumping with activity. At all hours of daylight, anyone could see the comradery that students felt amongst each other. When interviewing a fellow freshman, Kellylyn Murray of West Chester County, she told me “I just wanted to be outside with my fellow Temple students.” I think we can all benefit from this nice weather, not just in a sense of a dark tan, but that we can grow closer as a student body.
