On Monday, March 11th, Los Angeles band Cherry Glazerr stopped by the Foundry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for their ‘Touch of Chaos’ tour. Following the opening act Ex-Pilots, the group arrived onto the stage, bringing an exciting energy to the intimate space that is the Foundry at the Fillmore.

The show opened with “Touched You With My Chaos,” a slow tempo rock song. Repetitive lyrics, “I said that I loved you,” allowed the audience to sing along and be reeled into the performance. Following this, they played “That’s Not My Real Life,” with a quicker pace and a heightened indie rock feel. “Told You I’d be with the Guys,” was the third in the first few songs, with groovy guitar riffs and powerful dynamic vocals. This trio was a fantastic start to the show. Other notable songs throughout the show include “Had Ten Dollaz,” their current most-streamed song on Spotify, and for good reason. The guitar-driven melody was sure to give the audience something to bop their heads to. “Big Bang” is a song that fluctuates from a soft, delicate sound that builds to an intense passionate chorus and is absolutely captivating in live performance. The show finished with a cover of Nirvana’s “Territorial Pissings,” bringing an electric, grunge energy that allowed the audience to release all of the remaining energy they had left in a strong end to the gig.

Cherry Glazerr’s discography tends to play around with genre, and this variety of sound was wonderfully displayed at their show. This variety is what kept the show wildly entertaining and enjoyable for those who prefer anything from a grunge rock sound to a more alternative indie sound.

Another element that kept the gig’s entertainment value high was the energy brought to the stage by lead singer Clementine Creevy. Not once did she have a dip in liveliness. Her stage presence was enthralling, as she physically embodied the spirit of each track, not only through her singing but also with her guitar playing. The visuals displayed throughout the show were playful and psychedelic, complementing the performance. The smiley faces, comical memes, and interesting graphic design all added to the immersive experience.

Cherry Glazerr’s show at the Foundry was mesmerizing and a fantastic way to spend a Monday evening. With a diverse setlist of songs that maintained the energy, a captivating lead singer, and engaging visuals, this show was a testament to the band’s presence in the music industry as a unique and exciting group.
